Release Date: October 24, 1995 SK62006 CD Longplay Composer Richard Einhorn has turned his attention to Joan of Arc and the realm of opera and oratorio with Voices of Light, his first work composed for release on Sony Classical. Einhorn combines voices -- particularly those of the highly acclaimed group Anonymous 4 -- and amplified instrumental ensemble to celebrate the life and work of the French saint. Inspired by the silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc, the libretto for Voices of Light is made up of a patchwork of texts, visions, and reflections drawn largely from the writing of medieval women mystics. Voices of Light also features the Netherlands Radio Choir and the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, under the direction of Steven Mercurio. |
